It may be interesting to note that we have our own tailors at The Oyster Box.
Meet Mbali Mabaso and Kirsty Nzama who spend their days in a little room off the Laundry area at the back of the hotel. Mbali has been here at the hotel for 5 years in the Housekeeping department and stepped into these shoes about 6 months ago. Kirsty is here as a Trainee from The International Hotel School and is spending her time in the Housekeeping department learning the ropes in all areas.
These ladies not only help out with mending and altering linen but also sew up our Newspaper bags, Laundry bags and little sand bags that guests hang on their room door handles to advise if they would like their room made up or "Do Not Disturb".
On top of all this - they make sure all 400 staff have perfectly fitted uniforms. Lots of industry, sewing and tucking going on in this little room off the Laundry at the hotel!
