Catch two great American bands at The Oyster Box this Summer

Music duo, Surrender Hill, of Arizona in the United States will be performing for one night only on The Oyster Box’s Ocean Terrace on Wednesday 22 February from 19:00. The band includes South African-born Sony recording artist, Robin Dean Salmon, and singer songwriter, Afton Seekins, from Alaska. Surrender Hill's sound is acoustic guitar and vocal driven with lasting hooks and melodies, a comfortable blend of Americana, country and roots rock. The songs are laced with thought provoking, introspective, and at times, intensely personal lyrics, mostly inspired by their life together. Please visit:

Also for one night only, American multi-instrumentalist duo, Holysmokes and the Godforsaken Rollers, will be playing in The Lighthouse Bar at The Oyster Box. This US band has its roots in country blues, Appalachian folk and delta blues with a touch of psychedelic ambiance they call voodoo grass.  They have toured the US and released a DIY album in their eight months of being a band.

With a deep passion for songwriting, photography and visual art, the duo continues to push the limits of contemporary music and art. Don’t miss their gig at the Lighthouse Bar on 3 March from 18:00 to 22:00. Please visit their Facebook page www.facebook.com/Holysmokesandthegodforsakenrollers to find out more.

It is well positioned between Durban and PMB for business people to come and network in relaxed yet conjusive environment. Entrepreneurs and residents of Hillcrest; Langa Sithole (47), and Sandile Dlamini (36), saw a gap for a braai lounge within easy reach, in a premium setting.  “This will be an establishment where one can enjoy good food and pleasant ambience. Dwellers of our arrear normally travel over 50 kilometers to get the taste that tickles their fancy. So we decided to bring it closer to home,” says Sandile. “We also are targeting that exclusive market, with a good ear for crisp, timeless, South African and jazz music. Offering good food won’t be com...
